Pat Anderson Joins The Race For Minnesota Governor

Former state auditor pat Anderson makes her campaign for governor officials...The Republican set off today on a 14-city tour.She said voters can expect her to lay out 365 ideas for improving Minnesota over the 365 days until the 2010 election.Among her plans would be to apply sales taxes to services and clothing to offset cuts income tax rates.Pat Anderson says, 'taxing consumption is a much better economic policy than taxing productivity. And in states where we don't have income tax or corporate taxes or personal income taxes, they are booming right now; they're not running into this up and downs and these budget deficit problems.'She also took aim at a business tax-break program championed by Gov. Tim Pawlenty as being counter to pro-market principles.Anderson is the only Republican in an eight-candidate field who has won a statewide race before.She was elected auditor in 2002 and lost reelection four years later.
