...Last night we looked in on the number one ranked Mankato West Scarlets as they prepare to face Hutchinson in Tomorrow night's section final.There is another top ranked team in our area looking to earn a trip to state tomorrow night. They are the Greyhounds of New Ulm Cathedral.But the Springfield tigers stand in their way.For the second straight season Springfield and New Ulm Cathedral face one another in the playoffs.Last fall it was the Tigers topping the Hounds 20 to 8 in the state quarterfinals out in Marshall.This time around the game is to decide the section 2A championship.And the 10 and 0 Hounds know they will have to forget all the games they played so far and give it 48 minutes of perfection to get back to state tomorrow.This is not the first meeting between Cathedral and Springfield this season.The Hounds defeated the Tigers 21 to 13 to open the season in Springfield.The rivalry between the two squads is not lost on the 9 and 1 Tigers who know they will need to protect the football to win Friday.Both teams hope there won't be 2 and half feet of snow like last year's playoffs.We'll see how it all plays out 7 o'clock at Johnson Park tomorrow night.
