Investigators Learning More About Fort Hood Shooter

While the suspected shooter lies unconscious recovering from bullet wounds, we are learning more about his ten-minute shooting spree.Soldiers who were at the processing center are talking about their frightening experience.Manuel Gallegus has the latest from Fort Hood.Families, friends and soldiers at fort hood held a solemn vigil for the victims of the mass killing. New details are emerging about those chaotic minutes.Pvt. Marquest Smith/ says, "I just kept thinking this can't be happening, this can't be happening not now"Private Smith was getting his final paperwork before deploying overseas when he heard the gunfire pierce the air.He immediately sprang into action and threw a woman nearby to the ground to shield her with his own body.Private Smith ended up pulling four fellow soldiers out of the building.Pvt. Smith says, 'I'm just hurt because he's one of our own and he did something like this to our family.'Other soldiers ripped off pieces of their uniforms to help their injured comrades.13 people were killed and dozens of others injured in the shooting spree that lasted just about 3 minutes.Major Nidal Malik Hasan is accused in the deadly rampage. Investigators are searching Hasan's home and tracking down contacts in his cell phone.Hasan's apartment manager said the day before the rampage, Hasan did something that struck him as unusual.Jim Thompson says, "The only kinda strange thing we ever seen is he had somebody go up to his apartment on Wednesday with him. They were up there about five minutes and then they left and that's the first time I've ever seen a visitor at his house."While some people say they started seeing some red flags.. others say they only saw a soft side to Hasan.Imam Faizul Kham, "He Never showed any feelings of extremism or fanaticism or violent person, not at all.'Hasan's family says they are horrified and have no idea why Hasan might commit such a gruesome crime. Still -- that doesn't take the pain away from any of the victims friends and families.Jessica Koerder, Family Neighbor says, "that family lost their gem "President Obama plans to attend a private memorial service for the victims of Fort Hood's deadly rampage.Manuel Gallegus, CBS News, Fort Hood Texas.
