North Mankato continues to crunch numbers in order to meet it's 2010 budget.The City Council looked over wish lists from various department heads at a work session tonight.They're now sending those lists back... asking departments to make additional cuts.The city needs to trim 220 thousand dollars... that's on top of the 200 thousand originally proposed.City Administrator Wendell Sande says the council has a challenging task of balancing the budget, while also bringing the proposed tax levy down.Wendell Sande says, " The City Council wants to find a budgetary level they're comfortable with while keeping in mind all the competing forces that are at play."Sande says cuts are very broad across all departments.The council will look over the revised proposals at the next city council meeting.The final budget must be complete by the end of December.
