The decision to try self proclaimed 9-11 mastermind Khalid sheik Mohammed in a federal court has ignited passionate debate and today on capitol hill the U.S. Attorney general took the hot seat.Eric Holder faced tough questions from a senate panel about the decision to bring Mohammed and four other terror suspects to New York for trial.Fox news correspondent Craig Boswell reports from Washington.Tempers flared when republican senators challenged attorney general Eric Holder on the decision to try Khalid sheikh Mohammed in a civilian court instead of a military one.Kyl says: "how could you be more likely to get a conviction in federal court when kms has already asked to plead guilty before a military commission and be executed?"Holder says: "he will not select the prosecution venue, I will select it, and i have."Mohammed and "four other" accused 9-11 conspirators will be tried just blocks away from ground zero.They are currently held at Guantanamo bay.Sessions says: "I believe this decision is dangerous. I believe it's misguided."Holder admitted his decision was controversial but feels confident of convictions based on the evidence.Holder says: "failure is not an option."Critics say a civilian trail will provide Mohammed a world stage to promote his hatred-- holder says that is not the case.Holder says: "I have every confidence the nation and the world will see him for the coward he is."GOP senators say the 5 terror suspects do not deserve the treatment of a common criminal.Graham says: "that is a perversion of the justice system."After the hearing, the attorney general faced even more emotional questions from families who lost loved ones in the 9/11 attacks.Hoglan says: "i am afraid that the theatrics are going to take over at this point, and i very much regret that."There are also questions about security costs-- early estimates are at 75 million dollars.
